How to
prevent
whiteheads
Projecting from
underneath the skin, whiteheads appear as small irregular
protrusions, filled with pus.
They are Constant irritation and a matter of grave
concern for adolescents whose brains remain preoccupied
in finding out how to prevent
whiteheads.
They are a
challenging task for an aesthetician who too is engaged
in finding out ways and means about how to prevent white
heads. Composed of vibrant bacterial matter, whitehead
differ from the blackheads in being closed and
deoxidised. (find out the best acne solution
here)
To solve, the
problem can be approached in two completely different
ways, the first being an inactive approach and the second
being an active
one.
The inactive
approach
This implies to
leave the whitehead at their own, to be patient and
expect they will disappear automatically after a period
of time. How inaction can be a practicable
recommendation? Let me
explain:
(a) Playing with the white heads (like
puncturing them) you may unintentionally spread the
infection caused by Propionibacterium acne and aggravate
the condition by your ‘action’ in terms of proliferation
and
severity.
(b) Any such action causes inflammation and
redness first, leaving behind ‘permanent’ scars
later.

Bacterial growth
phase
There is a
scientific explanation to comfort and convince you about
the importance of your keeping calm about whitehead.
Bacteria multiply very fast, not in arithmetic order but
in geometrical progression. A simple explanation is that
bacteria grow in a standard pattern known as
‘bacterial
growth phase’.
It consists of four
phases; the Lag Phase, Logarithmic phase, Stationery
phase and Death phase. In the first phase bacteria get
acclimatized to the medium and prepare to grow. In the
second logarithmic phase, bacteria grow very fast and it
is this phase when white heads appear. Third phase is
stationery phase and number of growing bacteria is almost
equal to the number of dying bacteria, hence growth of
bacteria is stabilized during this phase. In the last;
Death phase the dying bacteria outnumber the growing
bacteria with consequent death of all the
bacteria.
It is on this
account that you are advised by aesthetician to refrain
from mishandling the whitehead least you leave indelible
impressions on your
face.
How to Prevent
Whiteheads ?
The active approach
is to proactively prevent the occurrence and correct what
wrong has already been done. For that
simply:
- Use mild face
cleanser, and rinse with pure rose
water
- Steam to open
pores prior to extracting
whitehead.
- Do not touch
whitehead but if you do, do it with ‘acne
extractor’
- Exfoliate very
carefully
- Drink lot of
water; ensure high fiber content or roughage in your
food. One way of doing it is to consume lot of
salads.
- Take a cup of
hot milk with two teaspoons of psyllium daily prior
to
sleeping
- Drink a glass
of any citrus fruit juice as the first thing in
morning.
- Exercise
regularly, not
strenuously.
- Do not hesitate
to see friends and don’t be an
introvert.
- Consider
hormonal treatment only under constraint and that
essentially under professional medical
advice.
