Cause Acne
Can
hormones cause acne? Yes it can. Acnes can be caused
by hormones. Have you ever noticed that the first onset of acne
is during the puberty period especially for women? There are a
lot of hormonal changes that will occur during this stage. This
is what you call as the hormonal acne. It is at this phase that
the body will be producing a bit too much of androgen that can
activate or stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce more
sebum for the skin. Sebum is an oil produced by the sebaceous
gland to maintain moisture of the skin, however if there is too
much sebum this will lead to having acnes, so if you are asked

question with a yes. Hormonal acne during the adolescent period
would normally just resolve itself.

There are
also cases that hormonal acne can occur or reoccur during
adulthood. When you are already an adult, you would already be
dealing with a lot of stress and problems that may affect your
emotions. When one is stress, these can cause some hormonal
changes and imbalances. Normally when its already hormonal
acne, it would be hard to treat since it won’t respond to the
ordinary acne treatments like applying creams with antibiotics
or other types of acne creams. When hormones cause acne, this
is usually treated with oral hormonal contraceptive and oral
corticosteroid which is an anti-inflammatory drug. This would
also be treated by reducing the androgen production because
when the production of androgen is lessened, it will no longer
stimulate or trigger the sebaceous glands to produce too much
sebum hence the acne will be lessened and would eventually
stop.
Usually,
when hormones cause acne, milk should really be avoided and
totally eliminated from the diet since this will just aggravate
the already severe case of hormonal acne. Did you know that
milk would cause acne as well? If you are drinking milk to
supply your body’s calcium need then get the calcium that you
need from another source like calcium supplements or fishes
like salmons and sardines. There are also veggies that are high
in calcium like tofu, brussel sprouts and other green leafy
vegetables

Even if
hormones cause acne, this type of acne would still mean that
you need to have use gentle soaps or washes so that the skin
will not be dried out and irritated. Exercise and the proper
diet could help your body deal and remove the stress that you
feel so that your hormones would be restored to the normal
state. Getting enough rest is one way of dealing and coping
with stress and to allow the body to rejuvenate itself. The
healing process of the body would normally occur while one is
asleep, so sleep is really an important factor. In general,
taking good care of the body is really important to prevent any
acne from occurring and as the saying goes, prevention is
always better than cure.
