Hormonal acne
symptoms
Puberty is to
acne what old age is to physical weakness; therefore
hormonal acne symptoms are most
prevalent and prolific in adolescence. This common
observation, however does not rule out the occurrence of
hormonal acne symptoms in other age groups. To
lesser extent though, occurrence of acne symptoms among
adults too are not uncommon.
Hormonal acne symptoms
Hormones are
chemical signalers which interact within the cell
structure, or with the outer cells in the immediate
vicinity. Another mode of their action is to convey
messages through entering into blood stream. They are
composed of different chemicals. Major female hormones
are estrogen and progesterone, while the male hormones
are called androgens and testosterone are important in
reference to acne. The male hormone; ‘testosterone’ is
produced by ‘testes’ while the female hormones are
produced by ovaries.
Hormones play
a role in the formation of acne when their balance is
upset. Both in females and males, the male and female
hormones coexist in certain harmony. For example
testosterone is found in excess in males and to much
lesser extent (about 10 %) in females. If on any account,
adolescence being one, the balance of the male and female
hormones is upset, it invariably causes some physical
changes like acne .

Cause of hormonal acne
symptoms
When
androgens; the male hormones are produced in excess to
what is their normal content ,in a male or a female, it
signals for increased production of sebum ( hair oil
).
The excess of this oil
oozes through pores in the skin and some acne bacteria
thrive upon it. The immunity response is triggered and
the disease fighting cells are summoned from other body
parts to the infected location. This causes the redness
around acne sometimes and this coloration is indicative
ofacne caused by hormonal
disbalance.
Excess of
sebum on the skin and the presence of infected material
within the pores of skin cause a blockage. When this
blockage extends to the exterior of surface, it gets
oxidized after coming in contact with air. An effect of
oxidation is blackening of the blockage and this blockage
is then known as a blackhead; a form of
acne.
Other impacts
of hormonal discord
In addition to the
production of sebum, hormones may trigger the emergency
response and produce adrenaline, which gives an immediate
boost in energy but that costs in long run. With the
overuse of adrenaline body is gradually weakend and
becomes prone to accept other diseases easily.
Discoloration of any kind, on or around the softer parts
of face is also symptomatic to acne. Symptoms of hormonal
acne are more prominent near the onset of menstrual cycle
in women.
A distinguishing
feature of the hormonal acne symptoms is their
inconsistency. Since thebalance of
hormonesdoes not remain static but keeps on
changing, the occurrence of acne fluctuates accordingly.
Within a matter of days you find your tarnished skin
appearance, as soft, fresh and free from all sorts of
blemishes as that of an
infant.
