Does
facial hair cause acne?
A lot of
people are confused and are asking “Does facial hair
cause acne?”. Acne is the result of the body producing
sebum oil that comes from the follicles attached to the body
hair in every pore of the skin. When the skin cells mature with
too much of the sebum oil there will be skin break outs called
blackheads, whitehead and zits or pustules. Blackhead is
medically termed as an open comedo meaning that the pore of the
skin has a wide opening filled with black colored skin debris
and dirt while the white head is a close comedo since the wide
pore of the skin is obstructed with white skin debris and dirt
as well. The skin break out would also be in the form of
pustules and zits. Pustules are red in color but are still
filled with skin debris and sometimes pus while the zits are
characterized by red and inflamed bumps on the skin that would
also contain pus, the excess oil and skin debris. So the answer
to the question of “Does facial hair cause acne?” is
no.

It is true
that the hairs in the head contains oils as well since all the
body hairs have hair follicles but the oils from the hair
on the head would not contribute nor cause acne breakouts in
the face. This would also be the case for facial hairs . Facial
hairs would not contribute to acne problems because the oils
that would cause the acne problems are coming from the insides
of each skin pores. Does facial hair cause acne? No it
does not. As you may have noticed, there are a lot of men who
grow beards and others grows mustache but not all of them have
problems with acne. If facial hairs can really cause acne then
it would be logical to assume that all of the people who have
facial hairs like beards and mustache would all have acne, but
this is not the case. There is only a small percentage of
people who grows facial hair have acne.
Does facial hair cause
acne?
If you have
problems with acne then it’s always good to follow some
cleaning habits like applying a good but mild facial
cleanser. Don’t use a lot of moisturizers if you have
acne problems since the moisturizers will just add to the oils
that are causing the acne’s in the first place. There would
also be times when the body is stress and for some people this
could make their acnes grow worse so it would always be good to
have plenty of rest and eat the right foods. Ensure that you
have enough supplements of vitamin C and bioflavonoids. Vitamin
C could help in preventing acne from recurring while the
bioflavonoid would help to strengthen the skin tissues.
Drink plenty of water to help the body eliminate the body
waste and toxins. Always remember to consult a dermatologist if
you feel that your acnes are already out of
control.
